Friday nights in Valletta - the third edition of BOV Streets Alive offers a wide variety of entertainment as well as night-time shopping in the streets of the capital every Friday between the 25th July and 8th August. Each of the three consecutive Friday nights will have a different theme and will include a variety of activities hosted from 7p.m. onwards, offering visitors the opportunity to soak in and delve deeper into the unique characteristics of Valletta.

· OPERA VS POP UNDER THE STARS 04/08/2008
The Gozo Youth Orchestra within the Gozo Youth Wind Band & Orchestra in collaboration with the American Embassy and the Culture Office (Ministry for Gozo) is proud to present an open-air concert named Opera vs Pop Under the Stars with the participation of guest Soprano Pamela Agius (New York) and Bass Noel Galea (Gozo, Malta). An exhibition of works by well-known Gozitan artist Paul A. Stellini compliments the evening. The Orchestra consists mainly of 50 Gozitan Youths who after having pursued their musical studies both in Gozo and Malta on an individual basis, meet regularly in group to prepare an exciting and varied repertoire to be performed later on in concerts throughout the year.
· THE MALTA WINE FESTIVAL 07/08/2008-10/08/2008
This popular, annual summer wine festival is laid on by Malta’s leading winemaker, Emmanuel Delicata, in Valletta before moving on to the quaint town of Nadur on the island of Gozo a few weeks later (22nd - 24th). A wide range of quality D.O.K. and I.G.T. wines are available for sampling and gourmet stalls are also set up with a range of Maltese and international dishes to complement the award-winning wines. Live entertainment from a variety of artists is provided throughout the festival.
Doors open at 19.00 hrs and the last serving is at 23.30 hrs.
Fee payable at the gate: € 10.00 which includes a commemorative wine glass, sampling of all the wines on show and live entertainment.
